The Spirit of the Lord; Will Renew the Ruined Cities
Isaiah 61:4 New International Version – They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
To renew simply means to put back to new something ruined, spoilt or damaged. In the days of the bible, if an enemy takes a territory, they have to carry the goods or spoil some vital things of the fighters; thus, the Spirit of the Lord is also in us to help renew the ruined or spoilt cities. A typical example of such people are the Moses, Elijah, Nehemiah, Jonah and even Jesus, they are just called to bring things into its original state.
This is why, as citizens of nations, we never should see a waste city or a property of a state, which could be the neatness of it, we should try to renew everything that is getting or got spoilt.
