Psalm 138:2 New King James Version || I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name, for Your loving-kindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name.

The name of a person carries his power, authority or personality. There was a story in the bible (Refer to the Scripture Study). People had ganged up against Daniel; the king made a decree that everyone who prays to any other God apart from him should be put in the lions’ den. Now, Daniel flouts that decree, thus, he should be thrown into the lion’s den. The king wished he could reverse that decree but he had already made the decree that everyone who does otherwise of his decree should be put in the lions’ den. So, in this case, the word of the king has surpassed his name; for wherever the word of the king is, there is power – Ecclesiastes 8:4

The above example also refers to the Lord our God, this is why we have to always go to God with what is written in His word. Know and believe what the word of the Lord has said about your life and enter a time of prayer with or to Him.
