There are two spirits ruling in the affairs of men, which is either the Spirit of the Lord (Daniel 4:17) in the Name of Christ Jesus or the spirit of the devil (John 14:30) who/which is against anything God or Godly.
A dream may come negatively but to forewarn you about the future that should not be considered as a bad dream because it is to give you a better tomorrow, but you will never know, this is why you need to bury yourself in the Word of God and in prayer, so you can sustain the discernment to know the meaning or source of the dream.
In as much as, the Lord has an agenda for the humans, the same way the devil has. Thus, if God reveals to men through dreams, the devil also has that ability.
So, how to know the source of a dream, whether from the Lord or the devil, is that its foundation should be based on the Word of God. Well, if the Lord wants you to study science or venture into show business, that might not be scripted in the Word of God, but at least, that dream should enhance the earth, the lives of people and bring glory to God and to enhance His kingdom.
