2 Corinthians 4:2 King James Version || But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
The Word of God is an animate substance which demands to be handled in a certain way. The Word of God I am referring to over here is not just the Bible, either soft or hard but the Word of God being Christ Jesus, as John 1 says.
… Nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth… The Word of God can also be termed as the Truth whose personality is still Christ Jesus, I am the Truth, Christ Jesus, says – John 14:6
So then, for us not to handle the Word of God deceitfully, we need to manifest the Word of God which is the Truth in the Person of Christ Jesus. Apostle James admonished us to be doers of the Word and not hearers only but deceiving ourselves – James 1:22–25. So from the scriptures, the only way to handle the Word of God is when we become doers of the Word of God in that we manifest Christ Jesus anywhere we find ourselves, first in our very character that is our deeds or behaviour, and how we talk, never neglecting how we think.
God’s elect, this is very possible because we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us – Philippians 4:13
