Psalm 142:5 New King James Version – I cried out to You, O Lord: I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.
Greetings in the Name of the Lord to you!
Our opening verse which was taken from our Scripture Study was written when the boy David runs from his master king Saul and when to live in the cave of Adullam (1 Samuel 22:1); those where his trying and tribulations time but he still remembered to call the Lord His portion in the land of the living. This means that it does not matter what goes on around Him, but the Lord is still his portion in the land of the living. Bear with me that David had already killed Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 and has been anointed as king over Israel in 1 Samuel 16.
Thus David had the right to either lament or be ill against the Lord, because how come a king had to run into a cave but with all these happening around Young Man, David, he knew for sure that the Lord is his portion in the land of the living.
Please kindly take note that Little Man David was still a teenager, when all of these were happening in his life. We worry about too many things because we have not been able to entertain the thought that the Lord God is our portion in the land of the living.
The Song Writer said; “You are my all in all”; this is the consciousness we should walk with, and we shall have the strength to overcome anything in the land of living; hallelujah, amen, Christ Jesus, I love You dearly, amen!
