1 30:6 New International Version 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

Some translations of our opening texts say “and David encouraged himself in the Lord but this says “he found strength in the Lord”.

God’s elect, there is strength and encouragement in the Lord. A time comes when you can not share your problem with anybody (you don’t even know what is wrong with you); your parents, friends, even pastors might not understand or believe whatever you think you are going through, this is when depression or the thought of suicide comes in. Or maybe someone said something about you which is untrue, you have said all you have but you seem to be still be the liar but in actual fact, you are the true person but everyone is against you, even sometimes in some sins; at this point, it is only in the Lord, Christ Jesus, through the precious Holy Spirit that will make you find strength or be encouraged because the Holy Ghost is our comforter (John 16:7)

At times, we condemn ourselves to a point that we even wished we were not in life, but 1 John 3:20 says; If our hearts/mind/conscience condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything: this is the point where we find strength and encouragement in and from the Lord.

Depression and staying sad is away from us today, in the Name of Jesus!

Declaration
