Prayer is the means by connecting to our heavenly Father. A person who is said to be fatherly in your life should have a channel of communication with you; that is termed as prayer.
God so respects man that He gave man the power of choice, as He has also laid His choice for His children. Thus, the way to tell God we agree to His choice of things in our lives is by prayer.
