Proverbs 4:7 New King James Version – Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
Job 32:8 New King James Version – But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
Knowledge, understanding and wisdom are triplets; they walk as three in one. Wherever there is knowledge, wisdom should be in display, wherever there is wisdom, knowledge and understanding should be in display as well. I am not talking about people who claim are wise but always acting foolish, people who claim they know but not acting on what they seem or claim to know. People who claim to understand but always in error or repeating same mistake over a period of time.
Understanding is been able to use knowledge the right way or what enables us to use knowledge, and the usage/application/display of knowledge is wisdom.
Our opening scripture tells us to “get understanding”, this means it is the will of the Father that we have it.
As children of God, understanding will always come from the inspiration from the Almighty God, who is the Holy and Precious Holy Spirit. This is why we need to be glued to the word of God, because it is through it that we will know how to or understand what and how to use the word for and at which time as the Lord wills or so desires.
One might have knowledge about something, but being able to use that knowledge is what we term as understanding.
