Inspirational Nugget

The British hero of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars began his career in the Royal Navy at a young age. Admiral Lord Nelson was only 12 when he took on a position as a midshipman on the Raisonnable in 1771. In the 18th century, it was common for boys around that age to join the Navy.

Nelson quickly rose through the ranks and became a captain in 1779 when he was only 20.

After a long and storied career in the Royal Navy, Nelson was slain during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The nation mourned his loss and gave him a state funeral.

The Flesh

Galatians 5:17 New International Version; for the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

If God or Christ Jesus needs us to live by the Holy Spirit, it means there is another kind of life that is contrary or against the life of the Spirit, called “the flesh”.

I define the flesh as the life of satan in a believer; this is when we act against or contrary to what the bible says or the fruits of the Holy Spirit says or dictates.

The deeds or the acts of the flesh is what brings satan to bear in the life of a believer – refer to Galatians 5

God’s elect, the believer should rise above the deeds or acts of the flesh and live the by the Spirit.

Confession

In the Name of Christ Jesus; I live no life of the flesh but by the Spirit of God, I am called to please God and God alone!
