The Gifts of the Spirit – To Profit the Congregation
1 Corinthians 12:7; New Matthew Bible – The gifts of the Spirit are given to each person to profit the congregation.
Yesterday, we learnt that every true gift from the Spirit should be by the Spirit and that is, it should glorify Christ Jesus or the Son of the Living God. The second is that it should profit all or the congregation. In the kingdom of God; God is always first, people the second and you or person with the gift the third. Well, you might disagree but this is the system God runs by His sovereignty and we have to abide by it.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit should benefit people or the congregation, never an individual or the person who has the gifts or gift. God is never selfish, He gave Himself to man, He gave His only begotten Son, same with the people He has called or the people He’s bestowed His gifts on them.
As Christian, in all that you do, God should be first, people second and you the last, the life of the Christian is always a life of sacrifice for God and people.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, give me the heart to be at the service of You and people, amen!
