The Spirit of the Lord; That They Might Be Called Trees of Righteousness
Isaiah 61:3 King James Version – To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
Righteousness is simply defined as the or a right standing with the Lord but we have the gift of righteousness and the acts of righteousness. We have being gifted with righteousness because of the finished work of Christ on the cross but we need to further the gift of righteous with the acts or doings of righteousness which is empowered by the Spirit of the Lord in our lives. A person who really has the Spirit of the Lord will act out the gift of righteousness without any stress or struggle. God’s elect, if the Spirit of the Lord is really Lord of your life, I tell you the truth, you will always live and talk as Jesus did when He walked the earth. The prove of our spirituality is when and if we are able to live out the life of Christ, both in words and in deeds.
