The Person of the Holy Spirit – He’s the Advocate
John 14:26 – But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit…
An advocate is simply someone who talks or defends someone or an issue on behalf of a person. Jesus has lived on earth before and He knows how the earth is. He said He will never leave us nor forsake us, even to the ends of the earth and He also said, He will not leave us alone or comfortless, but He will send another of the same (His) kind, who is the Holy Ghost or Spirit.
Thus, He’s with us and also with the Father and Jesus, He is the one who is always talking on our behalf to the Father of glory in heaven because He doesn’t live here with us but also with us through our advocate/lawyer the Holy Spirit. This is why we need to walk on earth as free people because we have an advocate.
Confession
I am bold and walk with a free man that I am a son/daughter of God because the Holy Spirit, my advocate, is always talking and pleading on my side to the Father and the Son.
