Inspirational Nugget: The Parkland students, 18-19

In the immediate aftermath of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., which claimed the lives of 17 students and teachers on Valentine’s Day, a group of young survivors emerged as some of the nation’s most prominent voices for gun reform. Furious over the deaths of their peers, the student activists—who include Emma González, Jaclyn Corin and David Hogg—launched the March for Our Lives movement and organized a historic rally against gun violence in March in Washington, D.C., which drew tens of thousands of people and earned them a tribute from President Obama in this years’ TIME 100.

Listen, That You May Live – Pt 2

Isaiah 55:3 (NIV) … listen, that you may live. …

We spoke about going to the Lord yesterday in His word. Well, there is another thing we call the inner witness or voice but it should be in line with the word of the Lord.

From the word of the Lord, the first point of listening is doing that which we heard or received from the Lord.

What is the sense when we receive without practicing it? The word of the Lord is for us to practice that is why He gave it to us.

Let us do everything possible to be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving ourselves. Wisdom is the application of knowledge, it would be unwise if not foolishness to receive knowledge from the Lord and not use it.

It might not come on a silver platter, but the Holy Spirit is our help.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I ask and receive the power to be a doer or a listener of your word.
