Genesis 14:14 New International Version (NIV) – When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

Being proactive simply means doing things before the set time or being in time. Example, you know, dad and mum will eat at 6 pm, why wait for mum to shout at you to enter the kitchen? You by and with your own wisdom entering the kitchen at 4 pm; that is what is called being proactive.

Father Abram (later Abraham) was living with his nephew, Lot, but they had to separate because of a misunderstanding. It happened that, a fight broke out where Lot was living, so he was taken captive (Genesis 14 – full story).

Well, I don’t know if God spoke to father Abram about this, so he trains his men in advance but the bible said in our opening scripture, that: – When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.

Wow, let me ask a simple question here. What if father Abram never trained men in his household, could he bring back Lot and everything the warriors took from them? Sweetheart, answer it yourself!

Well, sweetheart, let us be proactive at all cost, let us not wait to be told to do thing whiles we know exactly what should be done.

Why wait for mum to wake you up from bed when you know you have to wake up to do some house chores?

Sweetheart, God is a proactive God, so we also need to be.

Prayer

Lord and Master Jesus, I thank You for the gift of life and wisdom. I ask that you give me an eye to be able to see and know the future so I would be proactive to Your service, amen!
