1 Corinthians 13:4 New International Version (NIV) – …, it is not proud.
Daily Scripture Study
1 Peter 5:5-6 New International Version (NIV) – 5In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
James 4:6 & 10 New International Version (NIV)
6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Being proud is also a way of lifting yourself instead of lifting Christ or God as we said yesterday. Being proud or pride is when you take God out of the picture and everything and all things are just about you. You forget God, you can even boast and talk about tomorrow, your intelligence, your smartness as if you created yourself.
A person who is truly walking in love with God and man never proud. Hope you studied yesterday’s Daily Scripture Study about King Nebuchadnezzar, he was a proud man, when he had a dream and Daniel interpreted it for him in Daniel 4 and advice in verse 27 but he still didn’t yield until God made him an animal in the bush.
Sweetheart, let’s pray this simple prayer:
Lord Jesus, I ask that you take pride out of my heart, I thank You that I have a heart of humility because I should be like You on the earth, Jesus, I receive that humble heart from You, love You and amen!
