James 4:10 Amplified Bible (AMP) – Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose].
Humility is simply obeying authorities, even in your heart. In this our case, the bible said we should humble ourselves before the Lord and He will lift us up. Thus, our authority here is God and that sums up to the bible. We should take and obey the instructions in the bible. When the Bible talks about faith or believe in the Name, Jesus, we believe it – that is humility.
Humility is when we see ourselves as servants of the Most High God – that will definitely reflect in how we talk and how we act. If we are really humble, we will even know the kind of jokes we crack, how soon we say “sorry, please and thank you”.
Humility is even when we become aware of our environments that we put people first before us. When we are not self-seeking but seeking the best for God, people around us and even our environment before us.
It is pride not to be submissive to the word of the Lord.
Prayer
Jesus, I thank You, I pray and receive the spirit of humility just to please You and also be able to accomplish the purpose why you brought me on earth, amen!
